PORTAGE:
Portage, Pennsylvania is located on Route 164 which runs as Main Street through town. Portage grew up around Plane #2 of the Old Allegheny-Portage Railroad. Its industrial heritage included the railroad, coal mining, lumber mills, and steel manufacturing. Portage sits on the edge of the Appalachia Plateau. It is an area of many ridges and valleys.
